About
Sara Nizzardo is a Senior Manager for Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED), managing teams focused on Quality Assurance. In this role she oversees functional testers and automation engineers that ensure quality of DMED’s global media supply chain. DMED is a Disney segment responsible for key technology functions such as engineering operations, sales, advertising, data and content engines.
Sara has been in the Quality Assurance field since 2001, starting at AT&T as a Quality Assurance Analyst, and then moving to ESPN in 2005. From there, Sara has managed quality assurance teams focused on supporting a variety of different business areas, from internal enterprise level applications, to affiliate and commercial traffic systems. As the landscape of the digital streaming business evolved, Sara went on to transition to fully supporting Disney Technology teams. Now supporting Content Platforms, an area that creates customized frameworks to distribute and monetize Disney’s unique content to millions of customers globally, Sara implements manual and automation testing strategies that focus on long term quality, test reusability and sustainability that result in process efficiencies and faster cycles to market.
She is passionate about empowering and inspiring women in technology, has been a WICT board member since 2018. She has held several leadership positions within ESPN/Disney ERGs and completed the WICT Rising Leaders program in 2017. Sara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Central CT State University, and is in the process of completing her MBA from Post University with a concentration on Corporate Innovation in May 2022. She currently resides in CT with her husband Steve, twin sons Justin and Nathan, and daughter Megan. In her time off, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and practicing yoga.
